Prayer Request

I just wanted to take a minute and put a Prayer Request in to the man upstairs. "Lord, please be with the Cortez Family and Robert's daughter, Kristalin Cortez. She had emergency Gallbladder surgery last week and had some complications and today she had her 3rd surgery, but hopefully this will be the last and she will begin to recover now! " God Bless you all!!!

36 Weeks

I had my 36 week checkup this morning and it was pretty uneventful. My wonderful doctor pretty much just said, everything looks fine but because of all the pain I have been experiencing, she suggested I go home and rest; ofcourse, I went to work instead. She is going out of town on Thursday so she said I need to take it easy until she gets back for my next appointment, Monday, March 1st. We discussed what we would do if I happen to go into labor before the scheduled C-section date and agreed that I would TRY to see if I dilated on my own, but that I DO NOT want to sit in labor without dilating for a long time. I guess the only new news is that throughout the entire pregnany I have only gained 6 lbs; however, the last week I have gained 5 more lbs. WHAT? Anyways, here's to next week and hopefully more progress and less pounds!!!!

Top of the Morning to Ya!!!

Well, I just had my 35 week checkup and we are shooting for a C-Section, March 17th at 7:15am. With Cervical Stenosis, they do not think that my cervix will dilate and I told my doctor that I did not want to go through several hours of labor in pain, just to end up having a C-Section. With that information, combined with a couple other issues, we decided to do a C-Section. I am going to stay at work until the 16th and then I will come back on Monday, May 17th; well that is the plan.

The baby is measuring right on and so little Cash will be joining the family on St. Patrick's Day!!! WOO HOO.

33 Weeks

Well, I had my doctor appointment and things are progressing wonderfully. Cash is 4 lbs. 15 oz. and has turned into position, which explains all the pain and pressure when walking, standing or doing just about everything. My cervix is still closed which is good and he is growing right with schedule. We didn't get very good pictures, but I will post the ones that we did get later. I have been sick for the past 2 days, so I am just too tired to do anything extra at the moment. Thanks to Holly, Renee and Chrissy for the amazing baby shower on Saturday. It was such a hit from the decorations to the amazing turnout and baby gifts. Cash got so many gifts and we have everything put together already. I took only a few pictures before the shower, but I will get pictures from Candice and Renee and hopefully post them some time over the next week or so. Thanks you again for all your prayers and for the INCREDIBLE baby shower where so many friends and family showed up to share the special day with us!!! God Bless!

31 Week Update

Well, there isn't much new to report; Cash would not cooperate at all so we didn't get even one picture. He is 3 lbs. 12 oz. and I go back to attempt the 3D Ultrasound again on Feb. 1st. We will see how that goes...

MRI Results

Well, I just got off the phone with the neurologist and he said that I have an atery pinching a nerve and that is what is causing the incredibly annoying and embarrasing twitching on the left side of my face. He also said that the MRI showed NO TUMOR!!!!! I was so happy to get that clean bill of health; well not exactly 100% clean, but the best of all the possibilities. After the baby, we will discuss treatment options, which are either botox or surgery and the surgery is a complete cure so I am definitely going straight for the surgery! Anyways, thanks so much for all the prayers, it means the world to me. I have to make sure I am going to be around for my new little one, which I can not wait to hold now!!! Supposed to be 28 Weeks on Wednesday....LOL

Okay, so I think I have a healthy baby boy in there. My last appointment I was measuring ahead and by that calculation I should be 28 weeks 6 days today, well I was 30 weeks 1 day...what's up with that? Soooo, who knows? Two weeks ago when I went he was 2.5 lbs. and now he is 3.6 lbs. I did not gain any weight from my last appointment to this one so I have still only gained a total of 6 lbs so i am pretty much ALL BABY!!!

I got a cute 3D Ultrasound of Cash's face, but she couldn't get much more than that because he would not stop moving. He was like a jumping bean and I had not even ate anything yet. My doctor suggested that I take the Infant CPR class, so I think I am going to check in to doing that soon. I will upload his 3D picture when I get home. Love you all and thanks for keeping up!

Wooden Letters

Well, I am still sick, but I feel like I am getting better; just still really crappy in the mornings. I went to Wal-Mart today and found some wooden knobs and decided that I would just hand paint them the way I want them because to order the sports ones online would be around $40; it cost me $10 to make them. Once I finished painting the knobs, I went ahead and nailed a little nail where they would go and hung the letters up. I still have to wait until Joe gets home to get him to screw the knobs in so I can hang the letters on them, but it's looking pretty cute so far!

Sick and Tired...

I am so tired right now. I have had a house full since Dec. 23rd. Joe's dad and brother came in town and his brother was sick, then we got Colton on Christmas and he was sick. He finally went to the doctor today at 2pm and he has a viral infection; he has been throwing up and had diarrhea since Christmas Eve. I have gradually been feeling more and more ill and today was the last straw. I woke up and could not swallow or breathe. My body is aching and I just want my mom. I am so tired and emotional right now. I feel like crap and I just want to cry. I need rest, but there is never enough time.

Passed my Diabetes Test!!!!

Well, I need to take shorter clips but this is a small clip that I am testing out from Christmas @ Aunt Holly and Uncle Brandon's. We had the best time at Christmas. Colton got his dragon castle from Pappy, a cowboy belt, hat and shirt from Cavenders, a dinosaur book, a nerf gun, a bow and arrow, a Power Rangers back pack and lunch kit, new shoes, pants and tons more stuff. Today we will go to Aunt Renee and Uncle Don's to see our cousins Sarah and Trevor and Colton is going to have so much fun. Santa came last night and left so many awesome presents for Colton and when we get home this evening he will get to see them all. This is going to be another wonderful day full of joy and laughter! Cash even got a piggy bank with sports on it, a sports blanket and wooden letters with sports that spell his name (pictures to follow). My hubby got me a video camera (hence the video above), a new AWESOME food processor, a camera bag for my SLR Camera and video camera, a new CD and lots of other goodies, mom got me a Kodak Digital Photo Player, Holly got me my velour sweatsuit for after the baby, and last but not least my amazing father in law and brother in law got me my James Avery Charm Bracelet and the charm with the little boy shoes engraved with Colton 10-24-06, can't wait to add Cash's when he gets here!!! 26 Weeks....or am I?

Cash's belly on the left and his face with his hands on his cheeks... :) Today we had our 26 week checkup; however, again I am measuring 27 weeks, which isn't very surprising being that my original due date was the 23rd, then they changed it to the 31st at my second appointment and now it is measuring a due date of the 23 again. Cash is 26 weeks 6 days, he is 2.5lbs and the placenta is moving up which is a very good thing. We will have another appointment on Jan. 4th where I will get a 3D Ultrasound because my doctor's 3D was messed up! Can't wait.

Saturday I woke up and went to moms to help her decorate the trees and the rest of the house for Christmas; it looks so pretty and festive. I went and picked up my mini Joe around noon and we came home and took a 3 hour nap. That evening, we went and had our pictures taken and wow, did they ever come out great; we were so very happy with the outcome. Colton was still raring to go at 10:30pm due to our late/long nap so we went to a friends and let him play while we hung out for a while. It was an extremely awesome day and we were so sad to see Colton go today. Counting the days to Christmas Eve when we see him again!

Today was a pretty good day. We were supposed to have our family portraits done today, but I rescheduled for next weekend. Daddy went hunting and got home around noon. We woke up at 6am and went to have our Saturday morning coffee chatter with Pappy and Nana. Around noon we went home and everyone took a nap until 3pm. After we got up, we drove out to Katy and took Colton to see Santa at Bass Pro Shops and finally I got to take Joe to the Sushi restaurant that I ate every week for 6 years while living in Houston; Colton got his favorite, shrimp fried rice, then we drove through the Galleria to look at the lights on Post Oak. It was a really good day, but I was glad that Joe fell asleep with Colton because I got the bed all to myself and man was it a good nights sleep!!!

22 Weeks and going strong.....

Okay, so I saw my amazing doctor this morning and she said everything looks great. I did not have an Ultrasound, but I will my next appointment. So far, I have only gained 2 lbs since I became pregnant which is really good being that I already have plenty of extra weight!!! LOL We scheduled my next appointment for December 21st at 9am and that is when I will have my “BIG ONE” with the Glucose Diabetes Test and Ultrasound, everyone gets a new picture of Cash emailed for Christmas! J She will also check to see if my Placenta has moved up and off my cervix, if it does not, we will have to welcome our little man into this world via C-section, which is okay by me. After the appointment on the 21st of December, I will begin going to her every 2 weeks. The Spin Bifida test came back negative, so as far as we know, we have a healthy little boy in there. She also referred me to a Pediatrician by the name of Dr. Goldberg, so let me know if you have heard of him. It is a father/son practice and she said he is amazing….AND I trust her! Well, that is about all I have to share at the moment.

Well, I absolutely LOVE Christmas and everything about it so every year I try to decorate EXTRA early. The only thing I can do this early is the inside of the house; the Homeowner Associations frowns on decorating the outside this early. Anyways, here is my decorations so far...
